Saints Francis and Clare Foundation

Mission-driven.

Who we are and what we do

The Foundation

The Saints Francis and Clare Foundation was established in 2018 under the inspiration of the wholehearted works of charity to the poor and pious devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ of our well-loved saints, Francis and Clare, from the town of Assisi in Italy in the 12th-13th centuries.

Who we are

We are a religious, non-profit, charitable organization that aims to help the unserved and underserved by primarily conducting medical missions overseas and supporting the local diocesan programs of the Catholic, Christian and non-denominational groups.

Saint Francis of Assisi

Saint Francis was a son of a wealthy merchant. Having lived “in the world”, his life radically changed through his literal and total obedience to the gospel. He then lived a life full of humility and profoundly attached to God’s greatest commandments—to love God and to love one’s neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40). Saint Francis is great simply because his genuine love for God and the poor was everything that he ever lived for. Feast day: October 4

Saint Clare of Assisi

Saint Clare came from nobility. While many found it difficult to follow Saint Francis’ life lived in full obedience to the gospel, she was an exception and his perfect disciple. She lived a life in total cooperation with God’s will. Finding spiritual value behind poverty, humility and patience, Saint Clare’s generosity and compassion to the poor radiated a light so brilliant and visible to many around her, a light that only pure love of God can give. Feast day: August 11

What we do

We, at the Saints Francis and Clare Foundation (SFCF), commit to:

  • Promote and strengthen Christian values in families.

  • Deliver personalized and comprehensive health care services (i.e. medical and dental care) to the underserved communities to improve quality of life.

  • Reinforce the basic education of maintaining good health and hygiene.

  • Advocate and promote self-sufficiency of the marginalized members of the community by providing health care programs.

  • Support Roman Catholic seminarians, clergy and retired clergy.

And, joyously, we journey to where we are needed to be.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, that you also love one another.

— John 13:34-35
